Harmonic Analysis of Liszt's Rigoletto Paraphrase

This edition of Franz Liszt's Rigoletto Paraphrase features a measure-by-measure harmonic analysis that would serve well as a supplement to a course on advanced harmony. To the author's knowledge, this level of educational material integrated with a particular work is unique on the market. It also features a very playable and improved score in that time signature changes are painstakingly indicated, which Liszt did not bother with - and with modern editors following suit. There are comments on engraving decisions in the back of the work, many based on references to Liszt's autograph, of which the author has a facsimile copy. There is also a generous amount of performance notes. In addition, interspersed throughout the work are comments on the opera itself as it relates to the music, along with a brief treatment of the tragic heroism inherent in the opera.
